SHELFORD GIRLS GRAMMAR

New retractable seating system for Shelford Girls Grammar

Two new fold-away seating units were installed at Shelford Girls Grammar in Caulfield, Victoria by Ace Seating under the watchful eye of US manufacturer Hussey Seating. Local Dealer Sport + Venues Australia worked closely with the school to recommend a new Hussey MAXAM PLUS Power Operated Retractable Seating Platform to replace the old system that had uncomfortable plastic seats.

Hussey MAXAM PLUS uses energy efficient electric motors and features a Posi-Lock that prevents accidental closure when the system is in use. New Hussey Premia chairs were chosen and feature an exceptionally strong clam shell design seat with a durable, quality-upholstered finish.

All 232 seats over ten tiers are fixed in place and as the system retracts, the back of each individual chair folds to rest into a neat closed envelope creating wide safe walkways and maximum use of space. In under a minute the entire system is fully retracted freeing up the floor for gymnasium activities.

Despite significant difficulties outside their control involving a Shipping company, the School was kept fully informed of delays and the likely delivery date. When the seating arrived in Australia, the team worked tirelessly, over a weekend, to make sure there was absolutely no disruption to students and staff. The company delivered on budget and on time.
